Sermon Series on Psalm 119: “The Joy Of Walking In God’s Word”
Welcome to the home web page of the Bethel Protestant Reformed Church. We are a congregation of about 20 families located northwest of the Chicago metropolitan area. Since its organization in the Spring of 1989, Bethel has, by the grace of God, grown both spiritually and numerically. The members of our church family come from a variety of religious and cultural backgrounds. Some of us have grown up in Christian homes and have known for as long as we can remember that we belong to God. Others of us have only recently come to know God. Together, however, we share the common bond of faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Making us different from many churches today is our emphasis on exegetical preaching, Psalm singing, and solemn, reverent worship. Why are we different? Not merely because we like to be traditional, or because we fill a void left by many churches today, but because we know that God is a holy God, who commands us to know Him as He has made Himself known, and who forbids us to worship Him in any other way than He commands in His Word.
In keeping with our Reformed heritage, we love and defend the truth of God’s sovereign grace. At the same time, we know that our duty is to love God and our neighbor, and we seek guidance from His Word on how to do that in every area of life.
Our desire is that God would use us to give lost people the peace that is only found by repentance from sin and trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, and that they might experience the abundant life that God gives to all those who believe in Him.
With our sister congregations we maintain a seminary in Grand Rapids, MI for the training of men for the ministry and for missions. Three full-time professors give a complete course in all the branches of theology.
You are welcome to drop us a note, give us a call, and especially to visit our worship services, where the truth will be preached and God will be worshiped and glorified!
